Creativity over Criticism

As human beings, most of the time our own worst enemy is our inner critic. The problem is we have standards of perfection incorporated from the world around us and when things do not go our own way, our inner critic stops us from taking the steps to reach our goals, dreams, plans and even our calling.

The mind is one of the most powerful things you possess.

You need to tap into your creativity.

Creativity is the ability to imagine and believe possibilities for your life.

You also need to be courageous.

You need to be COURAGEOUS enough to stop your inner critic from dragging you down. And when you are courageous about your creativity, you start a FIRE OF ENERGY that will build on your dreams and set your heart racing to fulfill them. Julia Cameron puts it perfectly (2015):

"It is when we fire the arrow of desire, when we actually start a project, that we trigger the support of our dream. We are what sets things in motion; people and events resonate toward our fiery resolve. Energy attracts energy. We generate the energy and excitement, then others will give chase. Build it and they will come. Creative energy is energy. When we are worrying about creating instead of actually creating, we are wasting our creative mind. So, [once you] have [your] heart’s desire, ACT ON IT. It is that action, that moving out on faith, that will move mountains" (p. 133).

We also need to surround ourselves with people who will BUILD ON our creativity. 'Cause you and I both know that hurting remarks from another person only makes us only feel worthless and meaningless.

So surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers! Surround yourself with people who BELIEVE in your creativity!

Let your creativity knock down criticism.

And then you can let your mind take you into the beautiful thing of imagination, vision and empowerment.

We serve a God who created the earth, the fishes of the sea, the birds of the air, the sky and He created you and I. We SERIOUSLY serve the most creative Saviour ever. I know He has given each of us a spark to set a flame to our imagination.

So be authentic.

Be creative.

And REFUSE to let criticism stop you from moving those mountains.

Be Empowered:

The Holy Spirit controls my mind, which leads to life and peace (Romans 8:6)

Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil [and your inner critic] and they will flee from you (James 4:7)
